Hi CCAK Family,

Just a reminder that this Wednesday we are starting Firestarters Class at Unified… Be there by 6:30pm. I just sent you Pastor John’s email giving you additional details.

We will be having a Firestarters Challenge coming up soon as well. Just a little encouragement to apply what we’re learning and share the testimonies that come out of the class. I’ll keep you posted.

Also, on Sunday 2/26/12 we will have a brief memorial for Kevin’s wife Kim.

During our service, we will have a time of prayer, eulogy, and communion.

In the afternoon, we want to invite all of you to join us at White Plains Beach for the conclusion of the memorial service. 2:00-5:00pm there will be a time of fellowship and food. Thank you to everyone who is providing the food. Kevin and Joe will be cooking some Philadelphia Food dishes which you will love to try.

At sunset, our friend Mary Ann will dance hula, some more words will be shared. Finally, Kevin and a few friends will swim out and bid Kim farewell until we all meet again in heaven.

Family, thank you for your support and love through this whole process. It’s times like this that make me proud to be a part of our CCAK family. It truly is a family.

Blessings!
Pastor Arlen

Hello All You Spiritual Pyromaniacs Out There,

It’s time to get your kiawe wood, gasoline, newspaper and matches together for a big bon fire of immense proportions. Next week Wednesday we will launch our first Firestarter class at our beautiful, world-class facility in (drum role please) pristine Palolo Valley. What good can come out of Palolo? I heard about this name somewhere in the Bible. Maybe it was Nazareth, Kalihi Valley, Papakolea, Palolo? It doesn’t matter. God likes to use weak, insignificant people or places to do extraordinary things for Him. I fit this description. You fit this description. We are all one big warm cuddly, firestarter family in the Lord. I don’t know about you, but I am definitely feeling the LUV!!!!!! That deserves an amen!!!!!!! It deserves something.

Well, did you know that in 1906, Boston, Massachusetts went through a massive revival? I found this dusty book called The Boston Awakening in a used bookstore in Portland, Maine. It stated the streets of downtown Boston were clogged with people trying to get to prayer meetings during a lunch hour on Thursday. Can you believe the streets of Honolulu being clogged with people on a weekday trying to get to prayer meetings or healing meetings or revival meetings? Better yet, people sovereignly dropping to their knees on Bishop Street crying out for God. Thousands in Massachusetts came to know Jesus during this time. I think thousands will come to know Jesus in Hawaii.

It seems like the Spirit of God was dropping all over the world (Azusa, Wales…) during this season of harvest (1906-1910). God is ready to drop another revival bomb that will bring in millions. You are being equipped for this. Yes, you are being raised up for such a time as this.

I am so excited. The team is so excited. I know God is so excited about his end time army. That means you.

During my quiet time today, I read John 4:34-38, “Jesus said to them, ‘My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. Do you not say, there are yet four months and then comes the harvest? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields that they are white for harvest. Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. For in this case the saying is true, one sows and another reaps. I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor.”

You are entering into years and years of sowing by faithful saints who went before you and paved the way. We will all rejoice together at the marriage feast of the lamb. However, until that big luau in the clouds, we have work to do. We have wheat to harvest, mangoes to pick, taro to dig up, and coconuts to gather. The last fruit is kind of a stretch, but you know what I mean. Whatever the case, get ready!

These are just a few housekeeping things to take care of so that we best maximize the time. First, if you haven’t signed up, that’s okay. We will place you in a group on Wednesday night. You will be directed to an administrative genius during announcement time named Carrie. Also, don’t mess with her. Just listen and obey and everything will go smoothly. Second, start to ask God to open up divine appointments to pray, to prophesy, to heal, and to share the Gospel with people. Just go for it already. Share any testimonies you have with your group leader. Third, pray, pray, pray for our time. Ask God to pour fire on our classes. Ask God to incinerate us. If we all pray, something amazing is going to happen to all of us. It takes all of us to make this happen. Fourth, please come on time at 6:30 PM. Juggle your schedule a little so that you will not miss anything. Fifth, get ready to help move some chairs during our group discussion time so that we can start quickly and efficiently. Just picture yourself at an elite commando training facility in the jungles of Borneo ready to do damage for the Kingdom of God. A little team work from all of us will bless the whole time.

We love you folks. Looking forward to seeing you at 1419 10th Avenue on February 22 at 6:30 PM.

Please feel free to contact your group leaders or me if you have any questions. God bless you and stay tuned for more chat time. Aloha and stay hot for Jesus!!!!!

The Least in the Kingdom of God is Greater
-John Vierra

When I was listening to Dean share this Sunday about the differences between the pastoral led church and the Apostolic, it triggered a quiet time I had last week. It was in Luke 7:28. It states, “I say to you among those born of women there is no greater than John; yet he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” Could it be that the Apostolic movement is a movement to rid every vestige of the Old Covenant from the church? I think it is. We walk in the New Covenant now. A new revelation of the culture of the Kingdom of God is breaking over the land. The apostles lead the charge to root out the old and bring in the new.

Jesus wasn’t disparaging or demeaning John; he was making a comparison. He drew a demarcation line in the sand between the Old Covenant and the New. John the Baptist, who represented the Old, was now being replaced by the New Covenant, represented by Jesus. The old lived by the law and the new would live by grace. The old prepared and the new would walk fulfillment. The old had Moses and the new would now have Jesus. Jesus was making this distinction. The apostles are now forcefully reestablishing the culture of this New Covenant not only in the church, but in the world, too.

It didn’t matter that John was the greatest of all the prophets. His death marked the end of a spiritual season inferior to the new season breaking on the land at that time, our time. The least in this new season would be greater than what John walked in. Righteousness through the blood of Jesus trumps righteousness through works. It trumps the Law of Moses.

Most of the church thinks preparatory when they need to think fulfillment. Jesus said from the cross, “It is finished” (John 19:30). Therefore, we sit in heavenly places with Jesus (Ephesians 2:1-10). In other words, we reign now. Please understand, like many, I also became deluded by the old. The flesh likes to work for salvation and love. No more.

I believe the enemy of our souls always tries to bring the church back to the old season, the old ways, the way of works. You could say the apostolic season redefines the lines God always intended for the church. The Apostolic season reveals the season of the greater, that we, the church, should have always walked in.

However, like the Roman Empire, we, the church, have sent out our armies in waves throughout history. The original apostles, like the first Roman generals of the early republic, set up a beachhead by conquering Jerusalem, Greece, Asia Minor, and the Italian peninsula. Since then, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers, and the rest of the church, like the Roman army, have spread the Gospel throughout the world. However, like the culture changing apostles or generals of the Roman army, the Lord is sending out a new wave of apostles or generals to punch a hole in this world and bring in the culture of the Kingdom of God like a flood.

Apostles change culture. The stage is being set for our True Conquering General, Jesus, to appear. These new breed of leaders are rallying the troops for this one last assault to establish the Pax Iovah (the peace of God) on earth. The Romans established the Pax Romana or the peace of Rome throughout the Mediterranean. The church is called to establish the Pax Iovah throughout the world.

The Roman army’s strength lay in discipline, weaponry, and strong cultural roots. They also lived by a creed, strength and honor. The lines of conduct and motivation were clear for them in the heat of battle. It should be clear for us, too.

Dean shared the mindset that we should have in this new season by comparing the old model of church with the new model of the apostolic. I have some of them listed here. You cannot go wrong as the army of Jesus to have these engraved on your heart.

Yes, God has chosen the least to shame the wise (1 Cor. 1), but we still walk in the greatest season and mantle ever given to the people of God. We truly walk in the greater.

Hi CCAK Family,

Thanks for praying for my grandfather. He is stable right now, but in general his health is poor so the doctors are monitoring him closely. I’ll keep you updated.

In the meantime I wanted to continue to encourage you to read the Word this year.

If you started to read 1 chapter in Proverbs and 1 chapter in Matthew, you should be on Proverbs 4 and Matthew 4 today.

But no worries, there are no merit badges in heaven for perfect Bible reading. Just the Lord’s encouragement to press on toward the prize.

I also received a great article from Pastor John that I wanted to share with you all.

Blessings,

Pastor Arlen

————————–

The Seed that Cuts

When we look at the parable of the seed and the sower (Luke 8:10-15, Matthew 13:18-23, Mark 4:13-20), we naturally look at the external pressures or the soil that causes the seed not to sprout and grow. This is only right because the soil or the heart of man must hear the Word with an honest and good heart in order for it to bear fruit. If the heart is not right, the enemy, temptation, and the cares of this life will abort the growth of the seed. They will prevent it from growing into full maturation.

As I pondered this passage, I realized the other reason why people do not move into fruitfulness: they can’t handle the seed. The seed represents the word (Lk 8:11). Jeremiah 23:29 states, “Is not My word like fire?” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer which shatters a rock?” Fires and hammers cause pain. It is also like a double-edged sword that pierces the heart (Heb 4:12). “Ouch!”

Jesus preached challenging words to people and many left (Jn 6:60, 66). He told them to eat his flesh and drink his blood. They couldn’t handle the seed coming from his mouth. It was like a hammer. The fair weather followers left and packed up their bags to listen to someone else who would pamper their bruised hearts and sensitive sentimentalities. They even said, “This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it?”

I always used to wonder why 2 Timothy 3:16 emphasized the muscle side of the word of God; things like teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. Why didn’t Paul through the Holy Spirit write this verse this way? All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for encouraging, edifying, ministering, and comforting those in need. I have the sneaky suspicion that the word of God Paul was referring to was a lot more spiritually volatile than the bland, tepid, lukewarm stuff being preached from the consumer conscious pulpits of today.

The seed goes forth and has effect. Isaiah 55:10-11 states, “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so will My word be which goes forth from my mouth. It will not return to me empty without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” Another version states that it does not come back void. It always has effect.

I would like to make bold and assert that the seed cuts. John 15:2 states “Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it that it may bear more fruit.” The seed, like a sword (Heb 4:12) in the hand of the vinedresser, cuts into our spiritually diseased hearts and transforms us into the image of Christ; that is, if we let it do its good work over time. It takes perseverance and a good and honest heart to hold onto the seed until fruition.

Temptation, trial, and the Devil try to tell us the seed is too heavy, toilsome, offensive, and difficult to bear. Have you ever been offended by the Word of God spoken by a man or woman of God? Could it just be the incendiary quality of the Word? Could it be that one is offended needlessly? It is a fire. It is a hammer.

The soil or heart that can receive the pure seed of God without any sugar-coated additives will eventually produce fruit. Too many fall away because of offense. Too many teachers or preachers scatter poor grade seed and wonder why their parishioners are not growing.

I guess its time to receive and give out good seed. It’s time for our hearts to burn because we heard the Words of Christ (Luke 24:32). His challenging word will cause growth.

The seed cuts. It will eventually grow into a fruitful head of grain if we hold onto it, if we accept it, if we allow it time to do its good work.

My grandfather has gone into the hospital with a number of ongoing health challenges. Respitory, heart, blood pressure, infection. Perhaps others. He is in his 90′s but I would appreciate your prayers that if it’s his time to meet Jesus it will be peaceful. If not, a mighty healing would take place.

Thank you for your prayers.

Greetings CCAK Family,

A few days ago, I shared a revised way to approach our devotional time with the Lord. It is based on this acronym PSALM.

Prayer- Begin your time with the Lord with Prayer and Worship. Invite the Lord to walk with you throughout your day.

Scripture- Read the scriptures. Open your mind and heart to allow God to speak to you as you read.

Application- Put what the Lord speaks to you into action immediately.

Lifestyle- Make obeying the Lord your lifestyle.

Ministry- Allow ministry to flow from your lifestyle. The power of a testimony of God working in your life is that he will do the same thing for someone else through you.

So our daily scripture to read and apply together is:

One Chapter in Proverbs

One Chapter is the Gospels (starting with Matthew)

Here’s a link to my 15 minute message on this topic. Listen online or download the message from the CCKAPOLEI.COM website.

Don’t forget tomorrow, we will have a guest missionary join us at the conference room. James & Karen Coble will share about their life and ministry in Tsunami stricken Japan.

See you soon!
